The same wealthy Arabian donors who have poured millions into the Clinton Foundation did the same to help fund and grow ISIS, according to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
Assange spoke to journalist John Pilger in an interview to be broadcast Saturday by RT. In the interview, Assange calls the newly leaked information “the most significant email in the whole collection.”
The Sept. 27, 2014 email from Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta was a wide-ranging email discussing various elements of Middle East policy. In it, Clinton proposes a strategy to deal with ISIS, which she refers to as ISIL, another acronym associated with the Islamic State.
“This entire effort should be done with a low profile, avoiding the massive traditional military operations that are at best temporary solutions. While this military/para-military operation is moving forward, we need to use our diplomatic and more traditional intelligence assets to bring pressure on the governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which are providing clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIL and other radical Sunni groups in the region,” Clinton wrote.
Later in the email chain, Podesta became uncomfortable discussing clandestine matters on an unsecured network and, after one Clinton comment replied, “Yes and interesting but not for this channel.”
Assange said that email proves what has been long suspected.
“All serious analysts know, and even the U.S. government has agreed, that some Saudi figures have been supporting ISIS and funding ISIS, but the dodge has always been that it is some ‘rogue’ princes using their oil money to do whatever they like, but actually the government disapproves,” he said.
“But that email says that it is the government of Saudi Arabia, and the government of Qatar that have been funding ISIS,” Assange added.
Assange and Pilger then discussed the connections between those funding terrorism and the Clinton Foundation.
“The Saudis, the Qataris, the Moroccans, the Bahrainis, particularly the first two, are giving all this money to the Clinton Foundation, while Hillary Clinton is secretary of state, and the State Department is approving massive arms sales, particularly Saudi Arabia,” Pilger commented.
“Under Hillary Clinton – and the Clinton emails reveal a significant discussion of it – the biggest-ever arms deal in the world was made with Saudi Arabia: more than $80 billion. During her tenure, the total arms exports from the U.S. doubled in dollar value,” Assange then said.
Then Pilger asked the critical question.
“Of course, the consequence of that is that this notorious jihadist group, called ISIL or ISIS, is created largely with money from people who are giving money to the Clinton Foundation?” he said.
“Yes,” replied Assange.
Among the snippets of Saturday’s interview that were released Friday were comments Assange made discounting the possibility that Trump, who has said the presidential election could be “rigged,” could ever be elected.
“My analysis is that Trump would not be permitted to win. Why do I say that? Because he has had every establishment off his side. Trump does not have one establishment, maybe with the exception of the Evangelicals, if you can call them an establishment,” said Assange.
“Banks, intelligence, arms companies, foreign money, etc. are all united behind Hillary Clinton. And the media as well. Media owners, and the journalists themselves,” he added.
